Solomon was a speaker at the IPTV forum North America 2009 and his session was about “Gaming Opportunities in IPTV” The focus during this session was how providers, that have spent billions in new infrastructure, can start recovering some of their investments by offering services that can be monetized. Gaming is among the fastest ways to start recovering some of their investments. The focus of Solomon’s presentation was on the different ways revenue can be made through gaming. Beyond the obvious fact of being able to charge for playing the games, the other very attractive source of revenue is advertising, sponsorship, pay to participate in prize play, etc. Advertisers are especially attracted to games because it offers those advertisers can target their advertising based on demographics, playing history, purchasing history etc.
