The Interactive digital TV games service the whole family enjoys!
The UK based, interactive digital TV games service company DigiQuest UK Ltd, have just hit an incredible milestone. Over 1.2 million games have now been played via their GameOn games service for the Belgian cable network operator Telenet. The service, which comprises of a graphic rich Games portal that allows users access to the constantly updated games content, leader boards and the now familiar value for money day passes, has been a huge hit with the Telenet users. Not only have the users of Telenet, fully embraced this interactive TV service, they have thrown themselves fully into the quarterly prize play competitions, a significant feature of GameOn. It is this quality of service and the outstanding quality of their games that sets DigiQuest apart from their competitors.
Blockheadz 2
Due to the huge success of Blockheadz, the development team are now nearing completion of Blockheadz2,. Initial feedback, is that it will be just as addictive as its predecessor.

Solomon participated in a in a forum discussion about “Service Launch Strategies – lessons from the market” at the IPTV World Forum 2009 held in London. The discussion focused on what types of content subscribers are looking for and providers can monetize this content as well as attract advertisers. During the recession subscriptions to all sorts of pay per view channels were down substantially but since more people were at home and still need entertainment, what were the best ways to make up for that lost revenue.
Solomon was a speaker at the IPTV forum North America 2009 and his session was about “Gaming Opportunities in IPTV” The focus during this session was how providers, that have spent billions in new infrastructure, can start recovering some of their investments by offering services that can be monetized. Gaming is among the fastest ways to start recovering some of their investments. The focus of Solomon’s presentation was on the different ways revenue can be made through gaming. Beyond the obvious fact of being able to charge for playing the games, the other very attractive source of revenue is advertising, sponsorship, pay to participate in prize play, etc. Advertisers are especially attracted to games because it offers those advertisers can target their advertising based on demographics, playing history, purchasing history etc.
Solomon was a participant in Java One 2009 in San Francisco where several new technologies were introduced by Sun Microsystems including Java FX, cloud computing, new widgets offered by other participating vendors like Intel, Sprint, RIMM (Blackberry).
DigiQuest and Telenet launch Prize Play 2008 !!
Prize Play was launched on the 7th October on the Telenet Cable network. Users have the choice of playing three games from the Prize Play Portal, all they have to do is simply register their score, to have a chance of winning a Nokia 95 8GB mobile phone. There are three Nokia 95 8GB phones to win and the Prize Play is available until the 7th of November.
